Officers investigating a report of assault in Bridport town centre are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
At around 7pm on Friday 19 December 2025 a man aged in his 60s was leaving The Ropemakers pub in West Street when he was approached by a man who was known to him and pushed to the chest.
The victim fell to the ground and sustained minor injuries that did not require immediate medical treatment.
Following enquiries, a 63-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Police Constable Megan O’Donovan, of Dorset Police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this incident and I am keen to speak to any witnesses who have not already spoken to police.
“I would also like to hear from anyone who may have captured relevant dashcam, home CCTV or doorbell camera footage.”
