Officers are appealing for witnesses to a serious injury collision in Poole to come forward.

At 5.14pm on Wednesday 22 November 2023 officers were called to reports of a collision between a car and a motorcycle in Wallisdown Road at the junction of Canford Avenue, Poole.

The rider of the motorcycle sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment and the driver of the car was uninjured.

Wallisdown Road was closed during the incident to allow emergency services to treat the injured rider and investigate the circumstances of the collision. It was reopened at 7.35pm.

Police Constable Chris Brolan, of the traffic unit, said: “This collision happened in the rush hour, and I would ask anyone who saw what happened or captured it on dashcam to please contact Dorset Police.

“I would like to thank motorists for their patience and understanding during the road closures. While these were entirely necessary, I understand they caused considerable congestion in the area.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55230184657. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
