Officers investigating a serious injury collision in Weymouth are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to get in touch.

Dorset Police received a report at 8.28pm on Monday 23 September 2024 of a collision involving a grey BMW 3 series and a silver Honda motorcycle in Lynch Road.

The rider of the motorbike – a local man aged in his 60s – sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. His next of kin has been informed.

The driver of the BMW was uninjured.

Road closures were put in place to allow emergency services to safely deal with the incident. The road reopened at around 12.40am on Tuesday 24 September 2024.

Police Sergeant Mike Gatfield, of the traffic unit, said: “I am appealing to anyone who saw the collision, or moments leading up to it, to please contact Dorset Police.

“I am keen to hear from anyone who may have captured the incident on either dashcam or home CCTV footage.

“Finally, I would like to thank residents and motorists for their patience while the road was closed. This allowed emergency services to treat the injured man and carry out a scene examination.”
