Dorset Police received a report at 2.58am on Tuesday 23 September 2025 that a man had sustained suspected stab wounds to his arm in High Street.
Emergency services attended and a police cordon was put in place at the scene.
The man – aged in his 20s – was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries believed to be serious.
Following fast time enquiries, officers arrested a 42-year-old man from Poole, who is believed to be known to the victim.
He was subsequently charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
He is due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 25 September 2025.
Detective Sergeant Leo Christian, of BCP CID, said: “Following detailed enquiries, we have consulted with the Crown Prosecution Service, which has authorised charges against the individual in this case.
“This matter will be subject to active court proceedings and it is vital that the justice process is allowed to follow its course. We would therefore urge members of the public to refrain from speculation or commentary relating to this case, particularly online and on social media.”
