A man who was seriously injured in a collision involving an electric scooter in Bournemouth town centre has very sadly died.
Dorset Police received a report at 1.55am on Monday, 5 January 2026, of a collision involving an electric scooter on Old Christchurch Road, opposite the Popworld nightclub.
The rider of the scooter, a man aged in his 20s, was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries. Very sadly, he died in hospital on the afternoon of Monday, 12 January 2026. His family is aware.
The pillion passenger from the electric scooter, a man aged in his 30s, sustained minor injuries in the collision.
Sergeant Mike Burt, of the Serious Collision Investigation Team, said: “Our thoughts are very much with the family and loved ones of the young man who sadly died following this incident.
“We are continuing to conduct enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this collision, and I would urge any witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to please make contact with us.”
