Offices investigating a road traffic collision in Christchurch are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.

At 5.50pm on Thursday 7 July 2022 Dorset Police received a report of a collision at the Purewell Roundabout involving a white Vauxhall Corsa and a cyclist.

Officers attended, along with the ambulance service, and the cyclist – a man aged in his 60s – was taken to Poole Hospital. Initial indications were that his injuries were not believed to be serious, however, officers have now been updated that the man has sustained life-changing injuries. His family is aware.

Sergeant Geraint Butler, of the traffic unit, said: “We are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this collision and I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident who has not already spoken to police.

“I would also urge anyone who was driving in the area around the time of the collision to please check any dashcam footage for anything that might assist our enquiries.”
