Detectives are issuing images of two men they would like to identify as they investigate a robbery of a high value watch in Poole.

At around 9.45pm on Friday 14 July 2023 the victim, a man aged in his 60s, left the St Tropez Lounge at Poole Quay with a friend and they were approached from behind by another man.

The man grabbed a Rolex watch on the victim’s wrist, causing the strap to break and the watch to fall to the ground. The victim was able to recover the watch before the offender made off in direction of Sarum Street in the company off another man, who reportedly appeared to be acting as a lookout.

Detective Inspector Darren Moores, of Bournemouth CID, said: “We are conducting a full investigation into this matter, and we have obtained CCTV images of two men we would like to identify as part of our enquiries.

“I would urge anyone who recognises these men, or who witnessed the incident on the evening of Friday 14 July 2023, to please contact us.

“From our enquiries, we believe the two men involved in this incident were reportedly seen acting suspiciously on Poole Quay during the evening and may have approached other members of the public, so it would appear this victim may have been targeted for his high value watch.

“I would urge anyone wearing high value jewellery to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour to police. I would also like to encourage any victims of similar offences to please report it to us.”
