Man Seriously Injured in Collision in Poole

Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious collision between a cyclist and a car in Poole left a man in his 40s in hospital.

Officers from Dorset Police are investigating the incident, which happened at around 5.50am on Wednesday 25 February 2026 in Adastral Road, near the junction with Culliford Crescent.

The collision involved a black Range Rover and a cyclist. Emergency services attended the scene shortly after the incident was reported. The cyclist, a local man aged in his 40s, was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries have since been confirmed as serious. His family has been informed.

Police Sergeant Jack Cornick, of Dorset Police, said officers are carrying out detailed enquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding the crash.

“We are carrying out enquiries into this collision and I would ask any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please make contact with us,” he said.

“Also, I would like to hear from any motorists who were travelling in the area and may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.”

Adastral Road is a residential route frequently used by commuters and school traffic, particularly during early morning hours. Investigators are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the moments leading up to the collision or who noticed the movements of either the black Range Rover or the cyclist in the area beforehand.

Dashcam, CCTV, or doorbell footage from nearby properties could prove crucial in piecing together the sequence of events. Officers are particularly interested in footage captured between 5:30 am and 6 am.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Dorset Police online or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55260027252.

Alternatively, people can provide information anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers by visiting its website or calling Freephone 0800 555 111.

Police have thanked members of the public for their assistance and said updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
