Officers are issuing CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to in connection with criminal damage in Wimborne.

It was reported that, between Monday 17 July 2023 and Friday 4 August 2023, a man repeatedly cut a wire fence to gain access to Sturminster Marshall Golf Course, causing thousands of pounds worth of damage.

The wire fence was installed by the golf course to protect members of the public walking along local footpaths from entering mistakenly and potentially being injured by golf balls.

Police Community Support Investigator Lindy Wilson, of Dorset Police, said: “I am continuing to investigate these incidents and have now obtained CCTV images of a man I would like to identify.

“I would ask anyone who recognises him to please contact Dorset Police.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55230136637. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
