Officers investigating an incident where a woman was injured in Poole are issuing a CCTV image of a man they would like to identify.

Between 10pm and 10.30pm on Saturday 21 September 2024 a woman aged in her 30s was walking along Castle Street, from Poole Quay, and as she approached Orchard Plaza she felt a pain to her stomach.

The woman reported that she had been struck by some kind of projectile, possibly a pellet from an air weapon or BB gun. She sustained bruising to her stomach as a result.

Immediately after the incident, the victim saw a man looking at her and laughing. She went to challenge him and the man was abusive towards her, before making off from the scene.

Police Constable Ran Hartman-Turner, of Dorset Police, said: “We are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this incident.

“As part of our investigation, we have obtained a CCTV image of a man we would like to speak to and I would urge anyone with information regarding his identity to please contact us.”
