Officers are issuing a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the theft from inside a car in Poole.

It is reported that on Saturday 2 September 2023 at approximately 9.55am, a man leant in through an open car window parked on Herbert Avenue and stole the victim’s handbag and all its belongings.

The offender then went on to spend the victim’s bank cards in various locations.

The handbag also contained an iPhone, camera, cash, a pair of glasses and a bus pass.

Police Crime Support Investigator Adam Cleaver, of Poole police, said: “This incident has caused a lot of distress for the victim due to the sentimental value of some of the items taken.

“After making enquiries, I have now obtained CCTV images of a man I would like to identify.

“I would ask anyone who recognises him to please contact Dorset Police.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55230139229. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
