Officers investigating an assault on a member of staff at a shop in Poole are issuing a CCTV image of a man they would like to identify.

At around 2pm on Thursday 2 March 2023 a man entered the Home Bargains store at Redlands and was approached by a member of staff who told him that he was not allowed into the store due to previous incidents involving abuse toward staff. As staff escorted him out of the shop, he turned around and spat at the victim’s face.

Police Community Support Investigator Chris Hardy, of Poole police, said: “This was a very unpleasant incident for the member of staff to have to deal with while they were simply doing their job.

“We have been carrying out enquiries and I am now in a position to release a CCTV image of a man we would like to identify as part of our investigation.

“I would urge anyone who recognises him to please contact us.”
