The campaigns against the Bibbly Stockholm barge are united in not wanting the barge at Portland Port. However, whilst one group does not want the refugees on any barges and for them to be treated with humanity another group just wants them gone from the local area. One group are anti racist humanitarians and the other is sadly made up (in part at least) of racists and white supremacists.
This has come to a head on the day that the barge (known as Bibbly Stockholm) arrived at its destination in Portland Port.
Stand Up To Racism Dorset in the humanitarian corner and No To The Barge in the just get it away from Portland corner. Sadly instead of coming together it appears that the humanitarian left are seen as being as much of a problem as the refugees by the dog whistle right wingers.
The irony of the likes of Suella Braverman and Rishi Sunak being the piper for racists and bigots has not of course been lost on many, however their strategy to divide the British public, especially with a general election on the horizon is something else that needs considering. The Tories have always appealed to bigots (sadly Keir Starmer’s Labour Party are apeing them too) as that is the most effective way to create division. Decent people will always challenge them, as the establishment political parties have been aware of for centuries.
This division, bigotry and hate has reached a critical point today when a member of the public walked past a female member of Stand Up To Racism Dorset and exclaimed “I hope you get raped”. As the footage below reveals this cowardly man did not want to intelligently discuss the nature of the topic merely reveal what a vile person he is and commit a crime.

If anyone recognises him please join the throng and either report him to the police or persuade him to turn himself in. Hate speech is an imprisonable offence.
