Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward following a fail-to-stop serious injury collision near Upton.

Dorset Police received a report at 4.47pm on Sunday 15 December 2024 of a collision on the A350 Blandford Road North at Lytchett Heath between the Upton Roundabout and the Roundhouse Roundabout. It involved a grey Volkswagen Golf and a silver Peugeot 2008.

It is reported that the occupant of the Golf made off from the scene on foot.

Emergency services attended and the occupant of the Peugeot, a man aged in his 60s, was taken to hospital for treatment to a serious leg injury.

Road closures were put in place as the emergency services responded and enquiries were carried out at the scene.

Sergeant Gareth Thomas, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “We are carrying out enquiries into the circumstances of this collision and to identify the driver of the Volkswagen Golf involved.

“I am keen to hear from any witnesses to the collision itself, or the manner of driving of the vehicles involved prior to it.

“I would also ask anyone who may have captured any relevant dashcam footage to please make contact with us.

“Finally, I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding while the road closures were in place.”
