May and Trump: Lumbered with Liars and Incompetents

There are millions on both sides of the Atlantic who have for many a long year wondered what country they were born in to. They are surrounded by mid western types who seek to literally or verbally lynch anyone who think outside the box. Those who wear gullibility as a badge of honour. Those who bury their heads in the sand as if nature had determined their posture and their tastes. It is not new and in reality it is no different now than before. The poison chalice of nationalism or patriotism that rots the brains and kills families and friends.

Every leader will be unpopular and popular at once, but increasingly they are also an embarrassment. The only ones who do not admit it are the nationalists and patriots who seem to celebrate that their leaders are as empathy free as they are. Cool for them but not much fun for the rest who perceive sanity as a virtue, if not uncommon.

Let us start with the UK Prime Minister: Hapless is an understatement. Was she chosen by her Party to be a patsy or do they genuinely believe she has a certain something? My opinion is that there are elements of the public school brigade within the party that hankers after the Thatcherite dominatrix that they hope the vicar’s daughter from Oxfordshire can reproduce. The most worrying aspect though is that we have so called elite universities and that most of the upper echelons of consecutive governments attend them but many of those who then go in to politics have a propensity to be charmless clones from the days of empire. May did Geography at Oxford although I am not sure if it was because of the voice of God or David English whispering between her ears. Whatever or whoever it was should have warned her against looking a complete imbecile.

On the other side of the pond we have one Donald Trump. The man who takes charmless to a level that only a few celebrated lunatics have attempted. Don’t get me wrong I would would rather have anal warts than Hilary Clinton as a President but when the choice is between two people than can empty a room of free thinkers in the time it takes to sniff then we know democracy has passed the point of coughing up blood.

There is no need to repeat verbatim, the behaviour of old Donald, but this little gem more than sums him up.

2017 will be summed by a musical that will probably feast on multiple awards. ‘Welcome to La La Land’ folks and good luck.
