It was a simple question that the public generally understood. But alas Tory Mike couldn’t get it.
The question was ‘do you think it is important for politicians to show honesty and integrity in public life?’ For Mike it was ‘why should Nadhim Zahawi be honest if the media isn’t?’ Now he may have a point about dishonest journalists and if that had been the question it would have taken decades to unpick all of the evidence. But it wasn’t.
Also if the question had been ‘do you think it is important that politicians do not rape their constituents?’ would Mike have replied ‘only if the police do not do it’?
We know that some politicians and journalists are profoundly dishonest but we do not need both to judge but one Mike.
Watching the following is exasperating but Mike is a classic example of partisan politics. If it had been a Labour politician no doubt he would have switched in an instance.
Dorset is a Tory stronghold which is why it has some of the poorest areas in Europe. I’m alright Jack’s live round here in considerable numbers.
