A missing man from Poole has been found following extensive searches by officers.

Michael, aged 79, was reported missing, having last been seen on the afternoon of Tuesday, 3 June 2025.

Detailed searches have been conducted by officers, supported by volunteers from DorSAR (Dorset Search and Rescue), Wessex Rescue, and Dorset Search Dogs as well as HantSAR (Hampshire Search and Rescue) and Hampshire Search and Rescue Dogs. Assistance was also provided by NPAS and Coastguard helicopters.

Following the searches, Michael was located in the area of Upton Heath on the morning of Friday 6 June 2025. He is currently receiving appropriate medical care.

Chief Inspector Darren Harris, of Dorset Police, said, “I would like to thank all those volunteers and partners who have assisted our searches over recent days, as well as our own staff who have worked tirelessly, often in challenging conditions.

“I also want to thank members of the public who have responded to our appeals for information.

“We have continued to provide updates to Michael’s family throughout our enquiries and I am pleased that we have been able to deliver this positive update.”
