Detectives are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a moped rider sustained a serious leg injury when a pedal cycle was hurled at him in Weymouth.
The incident happened at around 6pm on Monday 30 May 2022 when the victim was riding along Littlemoor Road, travelling from Dorchester Road. After going under the Upwey railway bridge, someone threw a pedal cycle at him.
The victim, aged 18 years old, sustained a serious injury to his leg.
Detective Constable Neil Hooker, of Dorset County CID, said: “This was a completely unprovoked assault on a teenage boy that has left him with a serious injury to his leg.
“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area and saw what happened to please contact Dorset Police.
“I would also urge any motorists who were travelling along Littlemoor Road at the relevant time and may have captured the incident or the person responsible for this assault on dashcam to please get in touch.”
