Officers investigating a report of a road rage incident in Poole are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.
At around 6.10pm on Tuesday 9 August 2022 the victim was driving on Waterloo Road in his Honda car and when he approached the traffic lights at the junction with Hatch Pond Road a black BMW motorcycle reportedly cut in front of his vehicle. The victim sounded his horn to let the motorcyclist know he was there, and he responded by getting off the bike and shouting abuse at the driver.
The male motorcyclist then swung a punch at the man, which he moved to try and avoid but it glanced his head.
The motorcyclist walked back to his bike and rode off in the direction of Broadstone.
The victim did not require medical treatment.
The motorcyclist was described as white, around five feet eight inches tall and aged in between 30 and 40. He was wearing a helmet throughout the incident.
Police Community Support Investigator Dan Cammell, of Poole police, said: “We are continuing to carry out enquiries into this incident and have now obtained a full account from the victim.
“I understand there were a number of other vehicles in the vicinity at the time and I would urge anyone who saw what happened, or who may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam, to please get in touch.”
