Multiple Burglaries Across Bridport Area and Charmouth

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward following a series of burglaries in the Bridport area.

Between 6pm and 9pm on Saturday, 4 April 2026, entry was gained to a residential address in East Cliff in West Bay and items were stolen, including food, alcohol and sets of house and car keys.

The following day, on Sunday, 5 April 2026, entry was gained to an address in Shipton Road in Shipton Gorge, but nothing was taken.

A further report was received at around 4pm of a burglary on Bridge Road in Charmouth, during which entry was gained to the address and a white Land Rover was stolen from the driveway. The incident is believed to have occurred earlier in the day.

Then, between 4pm and 5pm, entry was gained to an address in Barrowfield Close in Burton Bradstock and a VW Transporter Campervan was stolen from the driveway.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish if the incidents are linked.

Police Constable Paul Miners, of Dorset Police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this burglary series and we have increased patrols in the area in light of these reports.

“I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area at the time the incidents occurred.

“I am also keen to hear from motorists driving in the area at the time with dashcams fitted, as well as any local residents with doorbell or home CCTV cameras, who may have captured any footage of relevance to my investigation.

“Further crime prevention advice can be found on the Dorset Police website.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police online or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55260048110. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
