Murder investigation in Bournemouth following death of woman

A murder investigation has been launched after a woman was sadly found dead at an address in Bournemouth.

Dorset Police received a report at 12.19pm on Friday 12 May 2023 from the ambulance service requesting assistance at an address in Rosemount Road.

Very sadly, a 34-year-old local woman was found dead at the scene. Her family has been informed.

A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and subsequently taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries he had sustained.

The arrested man and the victim are known to each other.

Detective Inspector Mark Jenkins, of the Major Crime Investigation Team (MCIT), said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman at this extremely difficult time.

“A full investigation has been launched and a cordon is in place at the address while an examination of the scene is carried out.

“I am appealing to anyone who may have seen or heard anything in the Rosemount Road area around the relevant time to please come forward.

“There will be an increased police presence in the area while enquiries continue and I would urge anyone with any information or concerns to please speak to officers.”
