Before we see the exposure of one of Murdoch’s little hand puppets, let us remind ourselves of this sad excuse for a human
Phone Hacking Scandal: During Morgan’s tenure as the editor of the British tabloid “News of the World” from 1994 to 1995 and later as the editor of the “Daily Mirror” from 1995 to 2004, the newspapers were alleged to have been involved in phone hacking. While Morgan denied any direct involvement or knowledge of illegal activities, the practices that occurred during his editorship raised questions about the newspaper’s ethics and practices. His denials also suggest that he is either as guilty as a puppy next to a pile of poo or that he had no idea what was going on on his watch. I’m not sure which one is worse.
Criticism of Meghan Markle: Morgan’s outspoken criticism of Meghan Markle, particularly after her interview with Oprah Winfrey alongside Prince Harry, drew immense attention. He questioned the veracity of Markle’s statements about her mental health struggles and experiences of racism within the royal family. Morgan’s comments led to his departure from the morning show “Good Morning Britain” after facing backlash and scrutiny for his remarks. (See video below.)
Comments on Gender Identity: Morgan’s opinions on gender identity and transgender issues have stirred controversy. He has been criticised for his approach, which some perceive as unsympathetic towards the struggles faced by transgender individuals, particularly his comments on social media and on-air statements regarding gender identity. A key characteristic of sociopathy or psychopathy is a lack of empathy or emotional intelligence. Morgan often appears to lack either.
Feuds with Celebrities: Piers Morgan has engaged in public disputes with various celebrities. For instance, his disagreement with Ewan McGregor over comments made about a women’s march led to a Twitter feud. He also had contentious exchanges with J.K. Rowling over her political views and clashed with Madonna over issues such as gun control and politics.
Comments on the COVID-19 Pandemic: Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Morgan expressed skepticism about certain aspects, including the severity of the virus and the effectiveness of lockdown measures. His opinions on the pandemic drew both support and criticism from various quarters. Rarely able to cite valid or reliable evidence, he tends to offer only his opinion.
Body-Shaming Controversy: Morgan has faced backlash for body-shaming comments directed at individuals’ appearances. Critics have accused him of making insensitive remarks about people’s weight and physical attributes. Again, this is a characteristic of low empathy levels and/or a lack of emotional intelligence.
Therefore, when the following happens and he is exposed for the rancid hypocrite he is, we should rejoice that some are brave enough to take him on.
