Ringwood and Burley Band are set to collaborate with Bournemouth’s Sound of Soul Choir to perform a charity concert in tribute to much-loved daughter and mother of one, Natalie Killeen
Taking place at the Barrington Theatre on the 21st May from 7.30pm, the special concert in tribute to Natalie, who tragically passed away at the age of 37 leaving behind a 3-year-old son, will raise funds for Dorset charity Macmillan Caring Locally. Natalie was cared for by the charity’s dedicated nurses at their specialist palliative care service, the Macmillan Unit, at Christchurch Hospital.
In tribute to Natalie, Ringwood and Burley Band and Sound of Soul Choir will both play a wide repertoire of music from traditional brass band marches to modern hits such as Calvin Harris and Disciple’s ‘How Deep Is Your Love’. Past Musical Director of Ringwood and Burley Band, Steve Block, will also return for one night only to conduct a new piece of music specially composed for the night entitled ‘Memories of Natalie’.
The evening has been organised by Natalie’s father and a member of Ringwood and Burley Band, Kevin Legg.
Kevin said:
“We are organising this night not only in tribute to my beloved daughter but also as a thank you to the wonderful Macmillan nurses for all their incredible work. They were truly fantastic and I really can’t thank them enough for everything they did to help Natalie. I hope this evening goes some way to showing our appreciation and that we raise lots of money to help Macmillan Caring Locally.”
Natalie was loved by many in the local community, as a testament to this, The Barrington Theatre has donated its premises for the night free of charge, whilst companies such as Beales Department Store, Haskins Garden Centre and Hobby Craft have all donated raffle prizes in Natalie’s memory.
Kevin continued:
“I would like to thank everyone who has supported the night, especially The Barrington Theatre, Beales Department Store, Haskins Garden Centre and Hobby Craft. These are companies which Natalie had been personally involved with so to have them aid the night in her honour is greatly appreciated. Music For Macmillan is set to be a great night of entertainment and I hope we will see many local people in attendance.”

‘Music For Macmillan’ will take place on 21st May from 7.30pm at The Barrington Theatre, Ferndown.
