All the way from rural France to four rural locations across the South West of England come two highly talented and original contemporary circus artists, Atelier Lefeuvre and Didier André, with a show set to delight audiences in Dorset, Devon and Cornwall this November.
Atelier and André are set to appear in the South West for the second time this year, following acclaimed performances of ‘La Serre’ in a polytunnel in Studland as part of the Inside Out Dorset Festival. Back in September, huge audiences queued patiently to see the French comedy duo in action, and were left enchanted and often crying with laughter by their perfect execution of circus and illusion, incredible strength and exquisite timing.
Produced by Activate Performing Arts, this second tour is part of the PASS Circus Channel project, a 3-year Anglo-French initiative to develop Contemporary Circus artists and audiences in the UK and in France. Producers, Artists and technicians in both countries are working collaboratively to bring more shows from the new and exciting world of Contemporary Circus to audiences on both sides of the English Channel. Following outstanding performances by Compagnie Hors Pistes last September, Artsreach are pleased to be involved once more in Dorset, this time presenting the equally special, very intimate and highly entertaining ‘8M3’.
The show, a double bill, is performed in an intimate space just 8m3. The first half, Chez Moi Circus sees a juggler alone in his caravan, in front of an old television set. In this shrunken space he takes the audience on a journey through his life as an artist. With humour and poetry objects come alive. But will everything actually happen as it’s supposed to?
Then in Ni Omnibus circus and transport are linked in a surprising place! A bus becomes a theatre, the outdoors comes indoors, the engine is musical and the fittings are props around which the performer twists his body to your amazement.
Expect the unexpected! Limited capacity so early booking is advised.
