South East Dorset Green Party is pleased to announce that a new Secretary has been appointed following the retirement of Helen Woodall.  At their monthly meeting on Wednesday, Stuart Lane was elected, and will be leading a Secretarial Team created from a pool of volunteers.

The outgoing Secretary, Helen, will be working closely with Stuart during the handover period and will continue to be an active member.  She said “I am confident that the party is in a safe pair of hands.  Stuart will be bringing his business experience to the role to incorporate elements of strategy and planning.  This will enable the party to move forward in a way consistent with the increase in membership and activity we have recently experienced.”

Stuart is settled in Winton, Bournemouth, with his Polish partner Basia and son Joshua. He has worked as a photographer locally for the past ten years. Before that he worked with Enterprise Resource Planning system projects which had him spending four years in Brazil, five in Ireland and a year in France and Hungary helping various businesses like Cadbury’s, Pfizer, Jabil, various Government Departments and the Irish Health Service.

He said “Climate change brought me to the door of the Green Party and the desire to tackle this, the most important issue for humanity to date, will keep me focused on building a stronger Green voice and influence locally.

“Whilst a political organisation is new territory for me, there are good amounts of overlap with a commercial environment and I hope to bring some of that experience to South East Dorset Green Party. Good progress has been made to evaluate the potential of our membership and to put the foundations in place for some vibrant and productive teams of volunteers, each playing their part in a cohesive local party. Team work will be my mantra!”
