Officers investigating a fail-to-stop road traffic collision in Christchurch are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.
The incident occurred at around 11.50am on Wednesday 10 November 2021 on Hurn Road, near to the junction with The Grove.
It is reported that a pedestrian – a local woman aged in her 50s – was waiting to cross the road when a red Nissan Micra approached from the direction of Blackwater and mounted the kerb.
The vehicle collided with the pedestrian’s arm, causing tenderness and bruising. It did not stop at the scene and drove away along Fairmile Road.
Police Sergeant Bill Nightingall, of Christchurch police, said: “I am carrying out enquiries to identify the car involved in this collision and would urge anyone who witnessed what happened to please come forward.
“I am also particularly keen to hear from any motorists who were driving in the area and may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.
“Finally, I would urge the driver of the vehicle involved to please do the right thing and come forward so we can take your account of what happened.”
