Derek Rainchild, 50, was last seen leaving an address along Rutland Road in Bournemouth at around 9.20am today, Saturday 9 January 2016.

Derek is described as white, five feet three inches tall and of medium build. He has mousey brown hair, blue eyes and tattoos on his arms. He was last seen wearing light blue jeans, a green jumper, blue bumbag and blue trainers with red laces.

Inspector Neil Wright, of Dorset Police, said: “It was reported that Derek was upset when he left and we are concerned that he may come to some harm.

“His family have not heard from Derek since this morning which is out of character for him.

“We are unaware of his whereabouts and carrying out a search, with assistance from the NPAS helicopter, in Bournemouth and the surrounding areas to locate him.

“I am urging anyone who knows where he could be, or who sees a man matching his description, to please call Dorset Police urgently.

“If Derek sees this appeal, I would urge him to make contact with us. Your family are worried about you and want to know you are okay.
