In case you missed it! There is a great Free event taking place on Saturday 10th October at the Corn Exchange in Dorchester.

The evening starts at 6pm and will feature poetry, a short but every engaging talk and rap music from talented local musician Chucky. There will also be an opportunity to see the ‘All Different, All Dorset’ video which shows people from a variety of ethnic backgrounds talking about their experiences of living within Dorset as well as enjoy a range of interesting displays. Headlining the music will be Intermix Sound System who will be playing reggae and ska music – guaranteed to have you up and dancing.

The esteemed Noah Messomo from Cameroon will also be adding to the evenings entertainment, sharing the exotic sounds various beautifully crafted instruments to evoke the soul and spirit of Africa.

Delicious Caribbean food will be on sale cooked by talented restaurant owner Prince and will include such mouth watering treats as authentic stewed goat curry and jerk chicken served with plantain and coleslaw – with a delicious vegetarian option as well – all at an extremely reasonable price. There will also be a licensed bar for the adults!

The evening is being hosted by the South West Dorset Multicultural Network (SWDMCN) who are a local group who have a track record of putting on well organised family events to help celebrate different cultures.

The theme of the evening is celebrating migration – and the SWDMCN hope that you will join them to show that Dorset values diversity.

The event welcomes people of all ages and a warm, friendly atmosphere is guaranteed.

The South West Dorset Multicultural Network are pleased to thank West Dorset District Council, Dorchester Town Council, the NHS and Dorset County Council for supporting this unique community event.
