A woman has died after being stabbed on a beach in Bournemouth.

Dorset Police were called to reports of two women who had been stabbed on Durley Chine Beach at approximately 11.45pm on Friday.

A 34-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while a 38-year-old woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Both women are believed to be from nearby Poole. Their next of kin have been informed.

Police have launched a murder investigation and have cordoned off the beach while they continue to search the area. No arrests have been made.

Superintendent Gavin House said: “Our thoughts are with the loved ones of the woman who very tragically lost her life.

“I would ask anyone who saw what happened or has any information about the offender and has not yet spoken to officers to please contact us urgently.”
