Dorset Wildlife Trust has unveiled six stunning new images for its 2012 Christmas card collection. The cards feature exclusive photographs of wildlife and Dorset landscapes in winter, all donated to the conservation charity by the photographers.
The new collection features a wintry Canford Heath and snowy Durdle Door as well as wildlife including a running hare, blue tit on a frosty branch, red squirrel in the snow and a herd of fallow deer.
Fiona Sansom, Supporter Development Manager at Dorset Wildlife Trust, said: “Our unique Christmas cards raise much needed funds for Dorset’s wildlife, thanks to the generosity of these talented photographers. We are incredibly grateful to them for these beautiful images that help us to continue our vital conservation work and to raise awareness of the outstanding habitats, animals and birds that surround us in Dorset.”
The photographers are Alex Saberi, Don Hooper, Mike Lawrence, Richard Nicoll, Peter Spencer and Dave Newman, who took the photo of Canford Heath. Dave said: “Having lived in Dorset for over 30 years and being a family member of the Dorset Wildlife Trust for nearly ten of these, it makes me very proud to have one of my photographs chosen and to help raise money towards the fine work the Trust undertakes. I realise how lucky I am to live in what I believe to be the most beautiful and picturesque part of the UK. I’m sure others will agree when they see this collection.”
The cards come in packs of 10 and cost £4.00 per pack plus 50p P&P. All the profits from the sale of the cards will help to support the work of Dorset Wildlife Trust.
