Police are appealing for the public’s help to identify a man following an alleged assault on four security staff at Weymouth Bay Holiday Park in Preston, Weymouth.
According to Dorset Police, the incident happened at around 8.25pm on Thursday 18 June 2026 after security staff asked two individuals to leave the holiday park because they were reportedly intoxicated. It is alleged that the pair then assaulted four members of staff, with two of the victims sustaining injuries.
The suspects are reported to have left the scene in a distinctive white Land Rover with a black bonnet, black roof and yellow or gold suspension. Police say the vehicle’s registration plate had been removed before it left the site, making identification more difficult. Despite officers carrying out searches for the vehicle shortly afterwards, it was not located.
Police Constable Bo-Martha Broadway said officers are now releasing an image of a man they wish to identify in connection with their enquiries and have urged anyone who recognises him to come forward.
If the allegations are proven, a number of criminal offences could potentially have been committed. These may include assault occasioning actual bodily harm (ABH) if the injuries meet the legal threshold, or common assault in relation to any victims who were assaulted but not seriously injured. The deliberate removal or concealment of a vehicle registration plate while using a vehicle could also amount to offences relating to the display of vehicle registration marks and may be considered relevant evidence if it was intended to frustrate police identification. Depending on the evidence uncovered during the investigation, other offences could also be considered.
As with all criminal investigations, those involved are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
