Officers have made an arrest after executing a warrant as part of an investigation into a reported commercial burglary in North Dorset.
Officers from the Sherborne and Bridport Neighbourhood Policing Teams (NPT), Rural Crime Team (RCT) and Force Support Group (FSG) executed a Section 8 PACE warrant (Police and Criminal Evidence) at an address in Yetminster on Tuesday, 7 January 2025, following a report of a commercial burglary in the Bradford Abbas area of Sherborne.
Following searches at the address, officers seized two trailers, one suspected and the other confirmed as being reported stolen from the Wiltshire area. Officers also seized a number of garden tools that were reported as stolen and a consignment of frozen turkeys suspected as stolen.
A 46-year-old man from Yetminster was arrested on suspicion of theft, burglary and handling stolen goods. He has been released under investigation as officers continue their enquiries.
Police Constable Timothy Watford, of Sherborne police, said: “We take all reports of this kind seriously and we would welcome anyone who believes they have been the victim of a burglary to please report it to us so we can take robust and decisive action.
