Police investigating assault in Sturminster Newton

Officers are investigating a third-party report of an assault in Sturminster Newton and are appealing for the victim and anyone with information to come forward.

At 11.48pm on Monday 5 June 2023 it was reported that a man had been seen assaulting a woman outside One Stop shop on Station Road.

Officers attended, but were unable to locate the man or the woman.

Police Constable Nick May, of Dorset Police, said: “Since the report, we have been making enquiries trying to identify the individuals involved. Unfortunately so far, we have been unable to do so.

“As we need to identify the victim to ensure she is safe and well, I am appealing for anyone with information about her identity to please come forward.

“Also, I am now in a position to release an image of a man I would like to speak to.

“Anyone who recognises him or has further information that could assist our investigation is asked to contact police.”
