Detectives are renewing their appeal for information following a road rage incident that resulted in a serious assault in Weymouth and issuing an image of a man they would like to identify.

Dorset Police received a report at around 9.50am on Saturday 17 August 2024 that a man had sustained injuries following an incident in Chamberlaine Road in Wyke Regis.

It was reported that the victim, a man aged in his 60s, was driving a black Audi A3 and was forced to stop suddenly to avoid a collision with an e-scooter.

The victim’s wife, who was a passenger in the vehicle, pulled down her window to challenge the male e-scooter rider over his riding.

He started becoming abusive and the occupants got out of the vehicle to speak to him

The e-scooter rider then punched the victim, causing him to fall to the ground. He sustained a head injury that required hospital treatment.

Investigator Flo Winstanley, of Dorset County CID, said: “We are continuing to investigate this incident and we have obtained an image of a man we would like to identify as part of our enquiries.

“I would urge anyone who recognises him to please contact us.”
