Police Officer Admits Having Over 1500 Child Abuse Images

A former Wiltshire Police officer has admitted to possessing 1,590 indecent images of children, including the most severe Category A material.

Callum Denley, 20, of Old Alexander Road, Malmesbury, pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent photographs of children at Swindon Magistrates’ Court today (Thursday).

The offences were committed between January 2020 and December 2024.

Denley was found to have collected 766 Category A images, which involve penetrative sexual activity. In addition, he was in possession of 300 images classified as Category B and 524 classified as Category C.

The former officer also admitted to two further offences—one count of possessing 56 prohibited images of children and another count of possessing an extreme pornographic image depicting a dog licking a vagina.

Due to the severity of the case, magistrates ruled that sentencing should take place at Swindon Crown Court, where Denley is due to appear on 2 May. He has been released on bail until then.

Wiltshire Police confirmed that Denley resigned from his position as a police constable after being immediately suspended when his offences were uncovered.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police stated, “We take offences of this nature extremely seriously, and we are committed to ensuring that those responsible for such crimes are brought to justice.”
