Officers investigating an assault in Sturminster Newton are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Dorset Police received a report at around 10.25pm on Friday 10 May 2024 that a man had been assaulted following a verbal exchange with another man in Railway Gardens. The victim was punched or pushed, causing him to fall to the ground.

He did not sustain any serious injuries.

Police Constable Ed Lewis, of the Sturminster Newton Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We are carrying out enquiries into this incident and I understand there were a number of people in the area around the time the assault was reported.

“I would urge anyone who saw what happened, or who has any information that might assist our investigation, to please contact us.”
