Police Seek Man Following Assault in Swanage

Update

A man has come forward following an image appeal in relation to a reported assault in Swanage.

Dorset Police received a report at 1.38pm on Friday 21 February 2025 that a man had been headbutted during an altercation with an unknown man in the area of Swanage Cricket Club.

Following an image appeal, a man aged in his 50s has come forward and is assisting officers with their investigation.

No arrests have been made.

Officers investigating an assault in Swanage are issuing an image of a man they would like to identify.

Dorset Police received a report at 1.38 p.m. on Friday, 21 February 2025, that a man had been headbutted during an altercation with an unknown man in the area of Swanage Cricket Club.

The victim attended hospital for injuries not believed to be serious. 

Sergeant Neil Hawkes, of Dorset Police, said: “As part of my enquiries, I have obtained an image of a man I would like to identify.

“I would ask anyone who recognises him to please get in touch.

“I am also appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has any information that might assist our enquiries, to please contact us.”
