Police seek missing pensioner from near Blandford

Officers searching for missing man Richard Woollman, from North Dorset, are pleased to confirm he has been found.

Richard was reported missing having last been seen in the Shillingstone area at around 11.15am on Wednesday 31 August 2022.

Following searches by officers, he has now been found.

We would like to thank everyone who shared our appeal.

Officers searching for a missing man from North Dorset are appealing for information from the public to help find him.

Richard Woollam, aged 75, was last seen leaving an address in Shillingstone on foot at around 11.15am on Wednesday 31 August 2022.

He is described as white, six feet one inches tall and of slim build and was wearing a dark blue polo shirt, dark blue trousers and black trainers.

Inspector Andy Bell, of Dorset Police, said: “We understand Richard can become confused easily and we are concerned for his welfare. We are carrying out searches in the area to try and find him.

“I would urge anyone with information as to Richard’s whereabouts to please contact us immediately.

“We have received a report of a possible sighting of a man matching Richard’s description on the North Dorset trailway between Shillingstone and Blandford during the afternoon of Wednesday 31 August 2022. While this is not a confirmed sighting at this stage, I would urge anyone who has been walking on the trail today and come across a man matching the description given above to please get in touch.

“Finally, I would like to make an appeal to Richard directly if he sees this – please make contact with us or your family and let us know where you are as we just want to make sure you are all right.
