Police very concerned for man with injuries missing in Weymouth

Officers searching for missing man James Rakestraw in Weymouth are pleased to confirm he has been found.

James was reported missing having last been seen on the evening of Monday 24 July 2023.

Following searches and enquiries by officers, he has now been located.

We would like to thank everyone who shared our appeal.

Officers are searching in Weymouth to find a missing man and would like assistance from the public in order to find him.

James Rakestraw, who is 44 years old, was reported missing at 11.46pm on Monday 24 July 2023 after having last been seen in Rodwell Road a few minutes earlier.

He is described as about six feet tall, of medium build and with short dark hair. He is wearing a light blue T-shirt, beige long shorts and possibly trainers.

Inspector Steve Hughes, of Dorset Police, said: “James was very upset when he was last seen and has injuries to his arms. Therefore, we need to find him urgently.

“I am hoping that somebody has seen him and can point us in the direction of where he might be.”
