Police very concerned for missing man from Sherborne area

Officers searching for a man who went missing from a village near Sherborne are appealing for information from the public to help find him.

Richard Robbins, aged 77, is believed to have left an address in Longburton on foot between 1.30am and 4am on Saturday 1 April 2023.

He is described as five feet eight inches tall and of average build with white hair on the sides and bald on top as well as a white beard. He was wearing a long black jacket with a hood and navy blue trousers.

Inspector Steve Hughes, of Dorset Police, said: “We understand Richard is confused easily and we are concerned for his welfare. We are conducting searches in the area as we are keen to find him and make sure he is all right.

“I would urge anyone with information regarding Richard’s whereabouts to please contact us.

“I would also ask anyone who may have been driving in the area of Longburton during the early hours of Saturday 1 April 2023 to please check any dashcam footage for any potential sightings of Richard.”
