A man has been charged in connection with a serious injury collision in Poole.

The incident, which happened on Melbury Avenue, was reported at 2.27pm on Friday 21 August 2020. It involved a pedestrian, a 13-year-old local boy, and a grey Mercedes A-Class.

The boy was taken to hospital and treated for serious life-changing head injuries.

Following enquiries, a 28-year-old man from Poole was arrested in connection with the incident.

He has now been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving, drug driving, failing to stop after a road accident and possessing a class B drug and is due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Friday 30 April 2021.
