Poole man in serious condition following collision in Wareham

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward following a serious injury collision in Wareham.

The incident occurred at around 4.50pm on Sunday 12 May 2024 on the A351 Wareham bypass near to the junction with the A352 Worgret Road and involved a grey Ford C-Max and a black Triumph motorcycle.

The rider of the motorcycle – a man aged in his 50s from Poole – was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries that are described as life-changing.

The Ford driver sustained minor injuries.

Road closures were in place while emergency services safely dealt with the incident and carried out an examination of the scene. They were lifted at around 7.30pm.

Police Sergeant Dave Cotterill, of the traffic unit, said: “I am carrying out enquiries to establish what happened and am keen to speak to any witnesses who were in the area.

“I would also like to hear from any motorists who may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.

“Finally, I would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding while the road closures were in place.”
