Detectives investigating an alleged serious assault in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward.
Dorset Police received a report that a man in his 50s sustained stab wounds during an assault in Old Christchurch Road at around 4.15am on Sunday 16 August 2026.
The victim, who is from London, was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries have been described as serious but not life-threatening.
Following enquiries, officers arrested a 40-year-old woman from Poole. She was subsequently charged with wounding with intent and appeared at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Monday 17 August.
Detective Constable Hannah Duell, of BCP CID, said officers had reviewed CCTV footage and believed there were people in the area who may have witnessed the incident.
Police are particularly keen to speak to a man who was wearing a light blue top, dark-coloured shorts and white trainers. He was reportedly in Sams Chicken shortly before the incident and may have important information that could assist the investigation.
Officers are also appealing to a second man who was wearing a white shirt, black tie and dark-coloured trousers. He reportedly raised the alarm with a nearby security guard before leaving the area.
Detective Constable Duell said she would like this man to come forward, adding that officers were also keen to hear from anyone else who was in the area at the time and may have seen what happened.
