Pop-up events will be held across Weymouth over the next few weeks for people to get involved and have their say on how they would like to see the town centre developed over the next 10 years.

Weymouth & Portland Borough Council is developing a strategy to deliver a brighter future for Weymouth town centre and wants residents and businesses to get involved.

The events will give residents and businesses the chance to identify what they feel are the most important and relevant issues for putting together the masterplan.

The vision for the plan is to create a thriving town centre that is a vibrant place to live, work and play, which offers diversity in housing, amenities and services.

Initial events will be held during the day on 14 and 15 August on the Esplanade, Weymouth, near the King’s Statue. There will also be events all day on 26 and 27 August on New Bond Street, Weymouth, outside Debenhams.

Further events will be announced in due course.

Cllr Ray Nowak, Briefholder for Economic Regeneration at Weymouth & Portland Borough Council, said: “I would really encourage people to come along, have a chat to our officers and provide your extremely valuable feedback.

“Community involvement is at the heart of the masterplan and we are really keen to hear from everybody.”
