A police task force focused on identifying far right members who were engaged in online and in person criminal behaviour surrounding the far right demonstrations and riots across the country have charged another local person to Weymouth and Portland.

Following

officers have continued to examine evidence into reported disorder at protest activity in Weymouth and have arrested and charged another man.

A 21-year-old man from Portland was arrested and subsequently charged with violent disorder. He is due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Friday 16 August 2024.

Assistant Chief Constable Mark Callaghan, of Dorset Police, said: “We remain committed to investigate those believed to have participated in criminal action during recent protest activity.

“Our message continues to be that we will not tolerate any reported hate, violence, or disorder in our communities.”
