Tory candidate Simon Hoare must demand protection for NHS from US trade deal

The voices of the people of North Dorset are getting louder calling on Tory candidate Simon Hoare to push David Cameron use his veto to remove the NHS or agree the legal wording that ensures its protection from an American trade deal.

It will take just 83 words to save our greatest institution, the NHS from the threat of irreversible privatisation. Or else David Cameron must use his veto.

The campaign has received support from the Liberal Democrat candidate Labour, Greens and UKIP. However, there has been no response from the Tory candidate Simon Hoare.

Hundreds of households will raise Cameron & Hunt estate agency style signs acrossBlandfordwhile the People’s NHS  publish the wording that will flush out the Coalition Government and expose if it is serious about protecting the NHS from TTIP (see notes to editors).

The wording drafted by an expert in EU law and healthcare needs to be inserted in the  EU-US trade agreement called the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership. The wording will ensure delivery of robust protection for the NHS from TTIP which people across the UK want the government to deliver.

David Cameron and the UK government now have no excuse . He has refused to use his veto claiming the NHS will be protected now is his chance to prove this is not just warm words.

The community actions in Blandford  this week is part of the people’s NHS stepping up its campaign across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland to demand that either David Cameron demands that this wording is included in TTIP or he vetos the Nhs from the trade deal.

Frank Mercer from the People’s NHS said: “The voices of the people of North Dorset are getting louder calling on Simon Hoare to push David Cameron to use his veto to remove the NHS from an American trade deal.

“It will take just 83 words to save our greatest institution, the NHS from the threat of irreversible privatisation. If Simon Hoare wants to protect the NHS from TTIP now is his chance to prove it.

“David Cameron must now demand that the European Commission puts this robust exclusion for the NHS into the text of the TTIP otherwise the Prime Minister must veto the trade deal. They have now run out of excuses he is either going to protect the NHS or he is going put the interests of US corporations ahead of the British people.”
