The University of Bristol as we know succumbed to a longstanding pro-Israel pressure campaign targeted at Professor David Miller, based on his important scholarship on Islamophobia.

In 2019, Professor Miller gave a lecture on the ‘Five Pillars of Islamophobia’ as part of a module called ‘Harms of the Powerful’. Among those five pillars are ‘parts of the Zionist movement’.

Following the lecture explaining how parts of the Zionist movement promote Islamophobia, the British pro-Israel campaign group, the Community Security Trust, lobbied Bristol to censor him. That complaint was dismissed after a full investigation found that Professor Miller had neither broken any laws nor the University’s rules.

  1. David Miller was sacked for spreading dangerous conspiracy theories against Israel. Israel is not an apartheid state. In Israel, by law, Israeli Arabs have the same rights as Israeli Jews. They study in the same school system and are treated as equals to all other Israelis in the same hospitals. Israeli Arabs vote, are elected to the Knesset, and have become Supreme Court justices. Although not required to join the army, some Arab Christian and Muslim citizens of Israel choose to serve in the Israel Defence Forces. Israeli Arabs enjoy the same privilege as other Israelis to study for academic degrees at Israeli universities of their choice. Palestinians who live in east Jerusalem also enjoy this privilege, despite not being Israeli citizens. Buses and trains are open to all; they do not have signs saying “Jews only” or “Arabs only” to separate commuters, as was the case in South Africa.

    • So what do you want to call forcing Arabs out of their homes and country-?
What do you want to call an Arab who behaves as the Jews want them to-?
What do you want to call the resulting deprivation-?
What are you calling all those Arabs currently homeless-?
Not to mention the huge disparity in the numbers of deaths.
How did all that happen so quickly-?
The “Second Coming” Israeli justification for your actions is not going to happen.
I can promise you – God is not going to help you.
