Public appeal after dog stolen near Shaftesbury

Officers are appealing for anyone with information to come forward after a dog was stolen in North Dorset.

The 10-month old female chocolate Cocker Spaniel was stolen from her home in Mampitts Lane near Shaftesbury between 7.30pm on Thursday 30 April 2020 and 8am on Friday 1 May 2020.

The dog, who is microchipped, was taken from her kennel at the rear of her home address.

Police Constable Nicholas Hunter, of North Dorset Police, said: “The dog’s owners have understandably been upset by this incident and we are determined to carry out all lines of enquiry to try and locate their dog and those responsible for this offence.

“I would urge anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area on the night in question or who comes across a dog matching the description given to please contact us immediately.”
