Officers searching for a missing elderly man from Wimborne are appealing for help from the public to find him.

David Stevens, aged 76, was reported missing having left his home address in Merley some time between 7.30am and 12.35pm on Tuesday 28 July 2020. A further sighting of him was reported at Costa in Wimborne town centre at around 1.30pm.

David is described as white, five feet nine inches tall and of large build and is bald with grey hair at the sides. He was wearing a beige zip up hooded top, light green polo shirt and light green trousers as well as a face mask and glasses.

Chief Inspector Claire Phillips, of Dorset Police, said: “David is confused easily and we are keen to locate him to ensure he is all right.

“I would urge anyone with information as to his whereabouts, or who sees a man matching the description given, to please contact us.

“It is possible David might have travelled by bus into Bournemouth and got off near the Cooper Dean roundabout at around 3.30pm this afternoon, but we are still waiting to confirm this report.

“I would also appeal to David if you see this to please make contact with us or your family as we all just want to make sure you are safe and well.”

Anyone with information or knowledge as to where David might be is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email [email protected] or by calling 101, quoting incident number 28:232.
