A woman from Ramsgate despairs at her husband, who, due to Nigel Farage’s campaign and social media echo chambers, has turned from a decent chap into a full-blown racist.
Amongst the hundreds of comments, typical were the following:
‘She might want to consider divorce. Sometimes you just need to cut your losses. Life’s too short to waste it on boneheads.’
‘That poor lady needs a marriage exit (or “MEXIT”) plan.’
‘Time to call in the divorce lawyers.’
‘I don’t want to judge her relationship based on a 5 minute video. But it sounds like the best thing she could do is walk away. Who needs that kind of hate in their lives? To take satisfaction from such an event, he sounds like a lovely individual.’
‘It’s sad to see people go down the Farage-to-fascist pipeline :(‘
‘Poor woman she doesn’t need him anymore in my opinion he’s toxic.’
And many other very thoughtful comments as well:
‘Farage has radicalised me too. I feel nothing but hatred towards him.’
‘Meanwhile Farage is having a grest time dining and laughing with billionaires friends in Mayfair.’
‘My stepdad is full-on Reform Ltd. He brought me and my mum over from France in ’85 and doesn’t care that Reform Ltd. wants to end indefinite leave to remain. He welcomes it. So after Brexit, me and my mum got settled status and now we have to worry about this.’
‘You rarely become racist/xenophobic overnight. He was almost certainly always like this but with reform he could finally be overt.’

‘I get the exact same thing from my neighbour (although I’m male and left wing she is right wing Tory), she was giving me daily updates of how many people on boats came in on any particular day, she finally stopped when she said about shooting people on the beaches and I retaliated with that’s very Nazi of her, since then she doesn’t comment on boats, but watches a lot of GB-News so her take on now is comments about their news items. I despair.’
